1. Can anyone put together a bike kit?
Yes, anyone can put together a bike kit that has basic mechanical
knowledge. Your kit bike will also come with a complete manual
to help you put together your bike. If you have questions
as you are putting together your bike, call us and we will
help you as best we can over the telephone. We also sell two
additional books that you might find helpful: How to Build
a Kit Bike and How to Build a Chopper by Timothy Remus. After
completing the assembly process, we recommend you bring the
bike in to have an Evil Twin mechanic do a safety inspection.
2.
Does the bike kit come with everything I need?
Yes,
down to every nut and bolt needed to finish your bike kit
assembly. The only additional things you will need are the
proper tools (basic mechanic’s tools), your labor, and
gas. Depending on where you live, you may need to purchase
turn signals and mirrors for licensing purposes. Additionally,
you may want to add a speedometer and/or tachometer to your
bike. Just a reminder, your gas tank, fenders, and frame will
come raw. If you don’t have contacts to have your frame
powdercoated and your tank and other tins painted, just ask
us to pre-paint everything for you. You can request us to
powdercoat your frame from your order form. If you would like
your other tins painted, please call or e-mail
us to arrange this service.
3.
How do I order my bike kit?
Bike
kits can be easily ordered on the web site- simply choose
the size of motor you want and finish you like, it’s
that simple! You can also add on ‘extras’ such
as powdercoating of your frame and wrapped pipes. If you have
any questions before you order, call or e-mail us today.
4.
What payment methods do you accept?
On
the internet, we accept payments with any major credit or
debit card through PayPal, an easy and safe way to make all
of your on-line purchases. When you first purchase your bike
kit, we will only ask you for a deposit on the bike kit, as
well as payment for all extras and add-ons purchased. After
we have your bike kit ready for shipment, we will contact
you for the balance due on the bike kit plus shipping costs.
Please note that payment in full for bike kits is required
before shipment can occur.
5.
Can I pay for my bike kit in full, rather than in two payments?
Absolutely!
Call or e-mail us today, and we’ll be happy to charge
you all at one time. We can take debit or credit cards, or
you can pay cash. When paying cash, you can arrange a wire
transfer directly from your bank to ours, or send a cashier’s
check.
6. How long does shipping take?
From
the time you order to the time your bike arrives at your house,
it can take 5-15 days.
7.
How much does shipping cost?
Evil Twin does not have a set price for shipping- we prefer
to help the customer save money by shopping around for the
most cost-effective freight carrier to deliver your merchandise.
Evil Twin will be more than happy to provide you a shipping
quote. Please be sure to include your zip code, and we
will promptly provide you with a shipping estimate. When possible
we will include cost-saving methods for your consideration.
Some of you may have a choice of whether the bike kit is delivered
directly to your home, or if it’s delivered to the nearest
shipper’s terminal to your home. This means you would
pick your bike kit up at the company who shipped your bike.
For example, if we used Evil Twin Freight Lines to ship your
bike, you would pick your box up at Evil Twin’s terminal
nearest your home. You will need access to a truck or some
other type of vehicle that can accommodate a 4’x4’x5’
pallet that weighs approximately 800 pounds.
8.
Can you ship directly to my home?
Not
a problem! If you don’t have a way to get the pallet
home from the shipper’s terminal, all you need to do
is select ‘Ship to my home’ from the Shipping
Options drop down menu when purchasing your kit bike.
9.
Is it difficult to get the bike registered?
No.
It’s very easy, in fact. Your bike comes with three
MSO’s (Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin): one
for the frame, one for the transmission, and one for the motor.
All you have to do is take those three MSO’s down
